Firstclass newsline gathered that the organized Labour under the
auspices of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN)
has cautioned the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government of
the implications of listening to unsolicited advice coming from some
uninformed quarters to slash salary of poorly paid civil servants as
part of the move to cut the cost of governance.
In a statement issued in Lagos and signed by the National President,
Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama and the Secretary-General, Comrade Alade
Bashir Lawal, the ASCSN stated that it is criminal for anybody or
group of persons to contemplate cutting down the salaries of civil
servants who are already underpaid in a country where the government
has reneged in all its responsibilities to the citizenry.
