Firstclass newsline gathered that the Bauchi State Government has
seized 22 vehicles from the four wives of former Governor of Bauchi
State, Isa Yuguda, which they allegedly took away.
Chairman of the Transition Committee, Senator Mohammed Mohammed,
disclosed this on Thursday at the Government House, Bauchi.
Mohammed said the recovery of the vehicles from the wives of the
former governor was in fulfillment of the mandate of the committee to
recover all items confirmed to have been disposed of or allocated
without following due process and return same to the government.
He added, "We have so far recovered a total of 22 cars from the wives
of the former Governor, Isa Yuguda. We recovered 11 cars from his
first wife, seven from the second wife and four from the third wife.
We are yet to recover the remaining cars from his fourth wife, who is
currently out of the country.
"We will ensure that whoever is in possession of government property
will be forced to return them. We urge public servants and the public,
especially those involved in the disposal and allocation of the
property in question to cooperate with the committee for the effective
discharge of its assignment," the committee chairman stated.
Governor Mohammed Abubakar had, after being sworn-in, vowed to employ
all measures within the ambit of the law, to recover all funds which
were allegedly looted as well as cars and property, which were
illegally allocated under Yuguda.
