3 stolen vehicles recovered from arrest armed robbers

Firstclass newsline learnt that the Bayelsa State Police Command said
it had arrested two armed robbery suspects and recovered three
vehicles from the hoodlums.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. AsinimButswat,
explained that security operatives also recovered firearms from the
suspects.
Also recovered from the suspects, are four handsets, one laptop, two
boxes of jewellery, all belonging to their victims.
The police spokesperson, who named the suspects as Nelson Isaac, 23,
and Tony Alaboh, 24, gave insight on how the hoodlums were
apprehended.
Butswat said, "On June 18, 2015, at about 1am, the
anti-kidnapping/anti-vice unit of the police responded to a distress
call that some unknown gunmen had invaded the compound of one Allison
Amachree Rollins at Elebele Community in Ogbia Local Government Area
of Bayelsa State.
"The suspects robbed him of some valuables, collected his vehicles'
keys and took away one RAV4 SUV and two Toyota Hilux vans.
"The men of the unit swung into action and alerted the neighbouring
states. Consequently, about 3.30pm, two of the suspects, one Nelson
Isaac, 23, from BomadiEkpetiama in Yenagoa Local Government Area and
Tony Alaboh, 24, from Agberi community in Sagbama Local Government
Area, were arrested at Choba, Rivers State.
"During their arrest, they were in possession of a locally-made pistol
loaded with one live cartridge. The police also recovered from them
the three vehicles mentioned above, four handsets, one laptop, two
boxes of jewelry, all belonging to the victim."
Butswat pointed out that the suspects had made useful statements,
adding that the command had intensified efforts to arrest their
cohorts.
Meanwhile, the state police spokesman, in a statement, said the police
foiled a kidnap attempt of one Egedegu Agama, brother of a former
Minister of of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison-Madueke.
Butswat said when the police got wind of the kidnap, following a
tip-off, security operatives had laid ambush for the suspects at the
Marine Police Waterside, Yenaka Community in Yenagoa and arrested four
suspects.
According to him, the suspects are Bethel Alasuo, 37, Jackson Ofolo,
28, both from Odewari community in Southern Ijaw Local Government
Area; EziborIbilo, 33, from Gbarain and FunpereKpou, 28, from
Gbarantoru community in Bayelsa.
He stated that the police recovered one Makarov Para pistol, two
T-shirts with the inscription 'security' at the back and two face
masks.
The suspects have been detained at the Department of Criminal
Investigation in the state pending the completion of investigations.
