state, southwest, Nigeria have called on the governor of the state,

protective gadgets and consumables against the deadly Ebola Virus
Disease (EVD) due to their closeness to the neighboring Republic of
Benin.
The
appeal was made Tuesday by the Chairman of the local government, Hon.
Isiaka Aderounmu during the governor’s assessment and monitoring tour of
the local government.

be urgently attended to under, what he called, “matter of urgency”, for
the provision of necessary medical materials for the people, because
they are vulnerable.
“We urgently need the state government’s quick
and decisive intervention in respect of Ebola Virus Disease in view of
our peculiar proximity to neighbouring Benin Republic which makes our
people quite vulnerable to the killer disease which has no cure yet,”
Aderounmu appealed.
Speaking at the event, a former Council Chairman
in the area, Engr. Fatiu Omikunle acknowledged that two among the three
General Hospitals in the council area have been renovated and equipped
by the Ibikunle Amosun led administration, as well as more than half of
89 primary schools. He however he noted that the people still deserve
more dividends of democracy.
He pointed out that if the Tongeji
Island in the council area is developed, besides generating revenue to
the state government, it would create jobs for the unemployed.
