THE Police Service Commission on Friday approved the promotion of two Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and 30 Deputy Commissioners of Police to the rank of Commisioner of Police.
The two CPs promoted to the rank of AIG are the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Tunde Ogunsakin and Mr Buhari Tanko.
The officers promoted to the rank of CP are: Pius U. Imue, Valentine U. Ntochukwu, Felix Goodluck Ogundeji, Frederick Taiwo Lakanu, Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison, Michael Ogbodu, Nwodibo Ekechukwu, Etop John James, Ademola Omole, Olushola Emmanuel Amore, Joshak Habila, Adegbuyi Samuel Damilola, Rasheed O. Akintunde, Istifanus Shettima and Jimoh Omeiza Ozi-Obeh.
Also promoted to the rank of CP is the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde; Ghazalli Mohammed, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah, Victory Niro Menta, Clement O. Adoda, Austin I. Iwar, Adekunle J. Oladunjoye, Adaji-Adejo-Gabriel, B.T. Sobulo, Mohammed Lawal Hussein, Ishaku Alhaji Barau, Emmanuel T. Inyang, Olufemi Olanipekun Oyeleye, Gabriel Achong and Ezekiel Danboyi Zang.
Seven others were also promoted Commissioners of Police in acting capacity pending when they will be due for substantive promotion.
They are: Wilson Inalegwu, Mani Murtala Usman, Fatai Owoseni, Emmanuel Ojukwu, Moses Jitibor, Adeyemi Samuel Ogunjemilusi and Ibine Emanuel J.
According to the spokesman of the commission, the two Commissioners of Police who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police were elevated because of their professional experience.
All the appointments, according to the spokesman, are with effect from August 25.
