T. A. Orji is character I’ll liken to the proverbial tortoise. He was so cunning that he successfully penetrated the heart of his boss and deceived the MASTER STRATEGIST Orji Uzor Kalu who presented him to the people of Abia for the 2007 elections. Because of the love the people have for OUK, they massively voted for T. Orji who at the time was languishing in EFCC cell. Soon after he assumed office as the governor, Gov. T. Orji gradually began to distance himself from the ideals of his political godfather. But because of the legal battle on his way at the time and the obvious need for protection from Kalu, T Orji maintained a semblance of commitment to party principles in his administration. But when it became obvious he was killing PPA with his clueless style of administration, his mentor OUK tried to call him to order by insisting he must justify the first term before nursing any 2nd term ambition. With the legal challenge out of the way, T. Orji saw this as an opportunity to reveal his true colour.
First he ran to AGPA like a chicken trailed by a ravenous predator. Before APGA could wake up, he had blind folded and tricked them, (including the Late Ojukwu who unsuspectingly came Abia to raise T. Orji’s hand & receive him into the party) and left with virtually all their members. The structure they had laboured over the years to build was completely in disarray.
Completed with his evil mission in APGA he had to move on to next stage. He ran to PDP and the gluttonous PDP couldn’t resist his bait. With the flag of PDP he repackaged himself as the LIBERATOR and came to the masses of Abia and guilefully told them that his mentor was the reason for his woeful performance. Even President Jonathan, blinded by his desperation to maintain his stay in Aso Rock didn’t see the emptiness of the man he presented to the Abia people as their MESSAIH.
Again TAO successfully deceived the masses, notwithstanding the persistent warning from the hitherto beloved OUK. The masses sold their conscience for peanuts. Market men and women, Keke riders, Artisans, and even professionals hurriedly sewed Ankara uniforms, T-shirts and caps and trouped out to hail the LIBERATOR. Those that insisted nothing good would come out of TAO refused to come out on the Election Day to cast their votes. The few that came out, foolishly sold theirs for as little as N200 and at the end TAO was returned elected.
As soon as the election was over, he quickly reminded Abians (particularly Aba inhabitants) that they disgraced him with sachets of pure water @ CKC & booed him at the stadium before the President; “fuckups” he must TREAT! What followed is well known to all of us and Abia and all inhabitants of the state have never stopped bleeding.
With the disastrous performance of T. Orji so far, the recurring question today on every political discourse is who’s to blame? …the masses or Kalu?
As much as we need to reflect on our past mistakes to understand how we missed it which would inform the necessary adjustments to ensure we get it right tomorrow, I think passing the buck at this moment will do little in helping us out of the socio-political quagmire the state has collapsed into. The sincere truth however is that T. Orji deceived Kalu in 2007 & deceived the masses in 2011 and as such we must all blame ourselves (OUK, Ojukwu, Jonathan, Ndi Eze inclusive) and must all resolve to work together to kick him and all his collaborators out of the government house come 2015. Otherwise, he would successfully manipulate us again and crown his stooge, and then our latter would be worst than former & Abia DOOMED for another 4yrs.

ReplyDeleteHow can one person possibly deceive all these great people consistently? Are you calling Ojukwu, OUK, OBj fools? The only thing you have done so far is paint OUK a saint, which trust me, if you know anything about Abia and its governorship since democracy resumed in 1999, makes your post worthless and less serious. I'm sorry but this is a biased post which shouldn't be taken seriously.

Kalu was the worst thing that ever happened to Abia State, and obviously!!, posts such as yours have been sponsored to poison the minds of the people for him to get his own person into power again, so that he can continue robbing Abia state from behind the scenes.
