I’ve learnt new lesson about life



Galala music creator, Daddy Showkey is currently thanking God for his new lease on life after coming out of a life-threatening accident that left him almost paralysed for more than a year in a German hospital and kept him out of active music for ten years.

Though, Showkey returned to Nigeria about three years ago, the singer had since been living what he described as a ‘simple life’ while he works on how to make his comeback on a full scale with a new album.

The singer who believes he was lucky to have been able to walk again, made a surprise return to the music industry recently with a single entitled, Showkey Show. He said he was ready to step it up with an album billed to be released before the end of the year.

Speaking exclusively with R recently, Showkey said he has learnt new lessons about life hence his decision to start approaching life with caution. Asked what he was thinking while he was on the sick bed, Showkey said he could not explain what the experience was.

He added that he would not forget how he kept asking the doctors if he would be able to walk again.

“The doctors told me I would not have been able to work again if I had delayed the operation for few more weeks. I still don’t believe I am walking again because what I saw in the hospital gave me a different impression about life and I am grateful to God”.

Showkey said he plans to release an album and cautioned those who believe he was done with music to do away with such belief. “I am back for good and I am feeling even stronger than I was before the accident.”

He said he would be dropping new singles soon and an album before the end of the year. “ I have actually been performing before now and I am working on my next album which would be dropped before the end of the year. Right now, I am working with top producers for some singles, as soon as I am done with that, people will know whether I am done with music or not”, he said.
