ADAMAWA STATE ASSEMBLY PASSES RESOLUTION TO SERVE NYAKO AND DEPUTY IMPEACHMENT NOTICES THROUGH MEDIA - Kushi George

Proceedings in the Adamawa State House of Assembly continued with Members agreeing to shelve the continuation of invitation of the Secretary to the State Government(SSG), commissioners of some parastatals and Heads of some government agencies to debate on a matter of urgent attention.
Presiding over the special plenary session today Monday 23, 2014, The Deputy Speaker Barr. Kwamoti B. Laori brought the attention of the House to the fact that the Clerk of the Assembly was earlier on directed to serve impeachment notice on the both the governor and the Deputy Governor last week.
The Clerk of the House Mr. Francis Gbensenso was thereafter ushered into the chamber to brief the House on how far he had gone in his attempt to deliver the notices of gross misconduct against the executives.
The Clerk of the House informed the Assembly that after making several attempts to deliver the notices to no avail as their offices are sealed with nobody around he went an swore an affidavit in court to that effect. He tendered the letter of affidavit on the floor of theAssembly.
The Speaker condemned a situation where both the Governor and his Deputy will abandon their offices thus creating a vacuum, he posited that the Assembly cannot wait indefinitely.
The Clerk was officially directed to publish the impeachment notice in two national dailies of The Daily Trust and Leadership News Papers and to also ensure that the notice is aired on the Nigerian Television Authority as a public announcement latest tomorrow.
The House has adjourned till Monday 30th June 2014.
