have launched a fresh offensive on Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
It was learnt that Residents said the militants stormed the town,
sending the embattled residents, who were obviously caught unawares,
into panic with many of them fleeing their various locations to their
home in utter confusion.
Reports said troops of the Nigerian Army are combating the invaders.
It was learnt the Boko Haram militants entered the vicinity of the
town through 'Cashew Plantain', which is behind Gina Barracks, housing
the 7th Division of the Army.
