PDP ALLEGES LAST MINUTE LOOTING IN EKITI
Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has issued a warning to the
Ekiti State civil servants collaborating with the out- going APC -led
government to loot the state’s treasury.
According to a press
statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Pastor Kola
Oluwawole, and made available to the press in Ado Ekiti yesterday, the
party warned that those civil servants found to have assisted Fayemi
administration in the illegal employment and issuance of backdated
letters of appointment will face disciplinary action when the new
government is inaugurated.
Oluwawole also stated that, civil
servants discovered to have helped the outgoing government to loot the
treasury will face disciplinary action.
In his reaction, Ekiti
State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Tayo Ekundayo, said as a party
and government, the tenure of the administration will end on October 16,
2014.
Ekundayo noted that there was nothing illegal that
Fayemi would do because he is a lover of democracy and the rule of law,
adding that they would follow the dictates of the constitution.
The PDP spokesman stated that civil servants involved in the drawn up
of the budget and release of money for the election will not go
unpunished.
PDP, therefore, called on the Economic and
Financial Crime Commission to be at alert and intervene at the
appropriate time so that Ekiti state treasury could be saved from total
embezzlement.
