31 year old man lands in court for draping 10 yr-old girl

Firstclass newsline learnt an Ogudu magistrates' court, Ojota in Lagos
State, has granted 31-year-old Mayowa Adeyemi arraigned for defiling a
10-year-old girl bail after he pleaded not guilty to the crime.
The magistrate, Mrs Sule Amzat granted the accused bail of N100, 000
with two responsible sureties in like sum.
She said that the sureties should provide strict proofs of gainful
employments, addresses as well as an up to date tax payment to the
Lagos State government.
Amzat also ordered the sureties' addresses to be verified and the case
file to be duplicated and sent to the office of the DPP.
The magistrate then adjourned the case till October 12, for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sergeant Lucky Ihiehie told the court that
the accused committed the offence on August 18 at No. 15, Igehinadun
St., Oworonshoki, Lagos State.
He said that on the night of the incident, Mrs Omolewa Damilola, the
complainant and mother of the child, called the Rapid Reponse Squard
(RRS) number to explain what had happened to her daughter.
He said that the RRS went to the mentioned address of both the
complainant and the accused and arrested him.
He explained that the accused, who is a neighbour to the complainant,
committed the crime toward evening of the day, when he sent the
10-year-old minor to his room under pretext to get him sachet water.
"As the little girl went inside to get the water, he followed her into
his room and pushed the girl on the floor,'' he said.
