Jos Bomb blast Survivor: We Were First Driven Out of the Mosque with Gunshots Before the Bomb exploded

Firstclass newsline~A survivor, Mallam Zachariah Ahmed, who narrowly
escaped death from the twin blasts that rocked Jos, Plateau State
capital, on Sunday night, has described his survival as an act of God.
He said, "We were inside the mosque when we started hearing gunshots.
In the process we all abandoned our prayers and started to run
outside. It was in the ensued confusion that the bomb went off. I was
lucky to have escaped by the whiskers.
"After the blast, we saw plenty of mutilated bodies of those killed
over the premises of the mosque. I cannot say precisely how many were
killed, but they were over 50."
Meanwhile, the death toll from the blast at the mosque and a
restaurant has been put at 44.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), who disclosed the
casualty figure in Jos, added that 47 others were critically injured
and were now receiving treatment in Plateau State Specialists
Hospital, Our Lady of Apostle hospital, Bingham University Teaching
Hospital (BhUTH) and Sunnah Hospital, Angwan Rimi, all in Jos.
Speaking with journalists at the premises of the state specialist
hospital, the North Central Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Mohammed
Abdulsalami said, "As at 3am, we had 44 people dead, while 47 were
injured, and majority of them are in the Intensive Care Units (ICU) of
the hospitals."
