Firstclass newsline learnt that the 27-year-old woman was accused of
being a member of a motorcycle-snatching syndicate which was smashed
by the Bauchi State Police Command.
Musa had said she was a widow and was not involved in the crime
committed by members of the syndicate.
But she was dragged to the Chief Magistrate's Court VI in Bauchi along
with other members of the syndicate on charges bordering on robbery.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, in a
statement on Tuesday said Musa, Ahmed Zakari and Ashiru Abdullahi
pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy and theft of five motorcycles,
contrary to sections 96 and 286 of the Penal Code.
He said they were sentenced by the court to six months imprisonment
with an option of N10,000 each.
Mohammed said, "Another member of the syndicate, Yusuf Karama, was
charged with being in possession of stolen property contrary to
sections 319 and 40 of the Penal Code. He also pleaded guilty and was
subsequently sentenced to two years imprisonment.
"He was, however, given an option of fine of N20,000."
In a related development, the police in Bauchi arrested a 32-year-old
suspected robber, identified simply as Ogbodo, for allegedly robbing
one Alhaji Yakubu Lamido of N414,630 at Muda Lawal Market junction in

now at large, on a motorcycle to rob their victim.
The PPRO said items recovered from the suspect included one Barreta
