Firstclass newsline learnt that a man, identified as Balongo Unogu,
has been killed at Angwan Ishaku, in the Katako area of the Barakin
Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State after he complained
bitterly against the murder of his brother.
Bolongo's brother, Edwin Unogu, was said to have been killed by
suspected Fulani herdsmen on Sunday, June 21, along with two others,
identified as Rahab Ishaku and Pam Gyang.
Balongo was said to have been trailed to his house by the killers, who
snuffed life out of him.
The latest incident is another incident in the series of killings in
the Barakin Ladi and Riyom local government areas of the state, which
led to an imposition of a state of emergency by the government.
Executive Director of Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Mark Lipdo, who
deplored the spate of killings in the two local government areas,
called on security agencies to urgently address the situation.
He said, "Killings are now rampant in the Barakinladi Local Government
Area of Plateau State. On Sunday, Fulani terrorists killed three
people ─ Edwin Onogu, Idoma by tribe, Rahab Ishaku and Pam Gyang ─ at
Angwan Ishaku, close to Katako area.
"Balongo Unogu, Edwin's brother, who bitterly spoke against the murder
of his brother, was also slaughtered in his house last night June 24."
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Emmanuel Abuh, could not be
reached. Calls to his phones were not answered.
