Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said the suspect, Mustapha
Abdullahi, committed the offence on Saturday at about 4pm.
He added that police detectives attached to the Dass division arrested
Abdullahi in Wandi District in the Dass Local Government Area of
Bauchi State.
The PPRO said, "The suspect lured an eight-year-old boy and had
unlawful carnal knowledge of him against the order of nature. The
victim was rushed to the Dass General Hospital for medical
examination.
"The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded."
In another development, the command's Special Anti-Robbery Squad, led
by Inspector Bashir Garba, while on patrol along Makama New Extension,
Bauchi, recovered an abandoned vehicle, marked, AS 496 MAG.
Mohammed said discreet investigation led to the arrest of three
suspects and the recovery of five vehicles suspected to have been
stolen.
DSP Mohammed stated that the suspects ─ Abdulkarim Abbas, Dauda
Zakariya, and Auwal Adamu, were arrested in Bauchi.
He said, "Suspects have confessed to have stolen aToyota Carina ll at
GRA Bauchi and sold it for N60,000 two months ago. They also stole a
Honda 98 model during Jumaat prayer and sold for N90,000."
The PPRO stated that two Honda Civic vehicles, stolen near Bauchi
State Government House was sold for N80,000 and N100, 000
respectively.
"Also, one Honda Civic stolen at a church along Muda Lawal Market Road
was sold for N90,000, while one Honda Civic 92 model stolen at a car
wash along CBN Roundabout was sold in Zaria."
The police spokesman said the police were working to recover the
stolen vehicle, apart from the five they recovered from the suspects'
hideout.
"After a thorough search, four fabricated master keys used for theft
of vehicles and other incriminating items were found. The matter is
still under investigation after which suspects will be charged to
court," he added.
