Firstclass newsline gathered that he lawmaker-elect for Ekiti North
Federal Constituency 1, Mr. Kehinde Agboola, in the forthcoming
National Assembly has promised to ensure that President Muhammadu
Buhari fulfilled his promises to Nigerians.
He said Buhari must match his policies and actions with his electoral
promises or risk rejection by Nigerians who were expectant of his
administration's performance.
Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party said this during an
interview in Ikole-Ekiti during his 'Thank You' tour to all the wards
in the constituency where he donated a wheel chair to an indigene, Ayo
Ayeni.
He opined that the trend of elections in the last few years had shown
that people were ready to vote people into office based on their track
records.
"There was clamour for change and it is here, but it should not be
that it was merely used for political gains. There must be visible
improvement in the welfare of the people of this country.
"President Buhari should fulfil all his promises to the electorate
like making a Naira equal to a dollar, giving unemployed youths
monthly stipend of N5,000, improved power supply among others.
"PDP members in the National Assembly will engage in constructive
criticisms that will help our country to grow and realise her
potential. Our party is not going to employ sheer propaganda to whip
up needless sentiments.
"I want to believe when he was suggesting that he didn't mean he
would get there to tell us another story. We are waiting for immediate
implementation of the social fund. We will support him to achieve
that."
Agboola added that he was in support of a reduction in the cost of
governance, but advised Nigerians to be enlightened on how the system
works.
On what the people of his constituency should expect, Agboola
promised to surpass the records set when he was the local government
chairman
