The Ondo State Police Command has said it will deploy a total of 4,282
policemen to provide security in the State during President Goodluck
Jonathan's visit to the state on Wednesday.
It said the number would include five units of visiting Police Mobile
Force to serve as back up.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Wole Ogodo, said in Akure on
Momday that adequate security measures had been taken to forestall any
breakdown of law and order during the visit.
According to him, the police would work with other security agencies
including the Army, Civil Defense Corps and other sister agencies
during the period.
He added that the security personnel would be placed in strategic locations.
It deployed 4,000 policemen during the Gen. Muhammadu Buhari rally
last Saturday, and there was no record of any breach of peace.
President Goodluck Jonathan and his campaign team are expected to
continue their campaign in the sunshine state on Wednesday.
