STF Soldier Allegedly Kills Man in Plateau over Girlfriend

A soldier attached to the Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis has allegedly shot and killed a man for insulting his girlfriend at Jarmai village of Kanam Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The deceased ,whose name was given as Buhari Alhaji Kawu, was said to have been shot dead by the soldier who intercepted him and his brother, Ibrahim Alhaji Kawu, and also allegedly dispossessed them of the sum of N80,000.
Abdullahi Abubakar, a relation of the deceased, told journalists in Jos yesterday that the soldier was reported to have been trailing Buhari, who had allegedly insulted his girlfriend, and that when he eventually met him with his brother, killed him and dispossess them of the money.
He said the matter had been reported to the STF Guard Commander in Dangi town of the local government area.
Efforts to reach the STF spokesman, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, to confirm the matter and clarify the force’s position yielded no results as calls to him were not responded to as at the time of filling in this report.
