Alao-Akala, Wali pick nomination forms

Ahead of November 29 Governorship Primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala yesterday stormed the National Secretariat of the party to purchase his expression of interest and nomination forms to return to the Oyo State government House in the 2015 Governorship election.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after he picked his forms, Alao- Akala who noted that the PDP lost out in the last election to the opposition because of internal wrangling, however vowed that the PDP was prepared to win the election in Oyo State.
Also yesterday, the immediate past Nigeria Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco and former Minister of National Planning Commission, Senator Abdallah Muhammed Wali was at the PDP national Secretariat to pick his expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the 2015 Sokoto State governorship election.
Speaking with journalists after picking his forms, Senator Wali, who was accompanied by his supporters, described the government of Governor Aliyu Wamako Magatakarda as a failure, stressing that the state has remained backward in all sectors of the society
Senator Wali explained that he was contesting the election because his people wanted him to govern them having consulted extensively with all stakeholders adding that Sokoto State was presently at the lowest level in terms of development in spite of its abundant human and mineral resources.
Also yesterday, a female Delta State governorship aspirant, Mrs Ndidi Abanum, who picked her forms to contest the Primary election, promised to make former militants Commissioners in her cabinet, just as she said she would bridge the gap between the rich and the poor in the state if elected as its governor in 2015.
Abanum, who is from the Ukwani speaking part of Delta, said that nobody could intimidate her out of the race, even as she said she was not being sponsored by any one and promised to fight poverty if elected. She said “When you put food on the table of the masses, the rich will enjoy their money in peace, but by the time the common man does not have food to eat, there will be problem. I am going in to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor and that is my calling,”
