The Ogun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Bayo Dayo, has said the Labour Party will finally dissolve into the PDP because the LP lacks the clout to win even a seat in the state House of Assembly.
He said this on Sunday at a reception held for some defectors from the LP at Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of the state.
While he described the LP as a “mushroom party”, he noted that there was no plan of having any alliance with it.
He said, “The LP structure is collapsing into the PDP, not because we have an arrangement, but because we know that the party is a mushroom party that cannot win a seat in the House of Assembly.”
Dayo said he had not been informed of the proposed visit of the Senate President, David Mark, to the state by the national leadership of the PDP.
The Chairman Mobilisation and Organisation committee of the PDP in the South West, Buruji Kashamu confirmed that Otunba Gbenga Daniel might end up in the party.
Kashamu said Daniel got to political limelight through the PDP and he could not bite the finger that fed him.
He added, “All the achievements recorded by Daniel administration were under the PDP. He has started to romance the PDP. Seventy per cent of his people are in the PDP, what can he do with the remaining 30 per cent except he surrenders to the PDP?”
