Father chief suspect in murder of five young children found dumped in bags

A father is the chief suspect in the murder of five young children who were found murdered, police in the US have said.
Timothy Ray Jones faces multiples charges after he was arrested on Saturday in his home state of South Carolina.
The suspect was arrested on unrelated charges after police stopped him apparently under the influence of drugs.
The children - aged between one and 8 - were reported missing on Wednesday by their mother after she failed to get into contact with her husband.
Jones had joint-custody of the children and reportedly told neighbours he was moving home when he left the family home last week.
After a frantic search which lasted the entire day the children were discovered beside an Alabama highway.
They had been murdered and buried in separate plastic bags just outside the city of Camden, local news reported.
Reports suggest Jones led the police to the place where the children were located.
Alabama Department of Public Safety spokesman Sergeant Steve Jarrett told local media Harris led search teams to the location after he was stopped at a checkpoint and subsequently arrested.
Police investigators also discovered what appeared to be bleach, some hydrochloric acid, blood stains and possible body fluids inside the vehicle.
They ran his license plates into a national database and found Jones was wanted in South Carolina "regarding a welfare concern of his children, who were placed on a national missing persons list by their mother.
District Attorney Michael Jackson in Wilcox County told The Associated Press Jones is the chief suspect in the murders.
"This is a very tragic situation,” Jackson said. “These kids’ lives were snuffed out before they had a chance to enjoy life. Justice will be served
