AHEAD of 2015 Presidential election, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse, vowed yesterday that President Goodluck Jonathan will win the election.

According to him, the conclusion was based on what he termed the disenchantment which trailed the national convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, adding, “when APC completed their primary, I knew Mr. President’s victory in 2015 is fait accompli.”

Ambassador Bagudu who assured Prof Alkali of the support of the people of Plateau state for President Jonathan, said that they will repeat the feat recorded during the 2011 presidential election in 2015, adding that Plateau state gave President Jonathan the largest number of votes in 2011 from the North Central states and the second largest in the entire North.

Also speaking, the Chancellor of the Mandate Group, Dr. Ojong Okon Eno, who noted that the group has 62 million registered members nationwide and working behind the scene since 2011 for the success of President Jonathan, however appealed to politicians to be sportsmanlike during and after election and accept the outcome of elections in good fate like the Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi.

“We want what happened in Ekiti state to be institutionalized nationwide,” he said.

In his response, Prof Alkali expressed the appreciation of the government for their support for the administration of President Jonathan.

Alkali, who accepted to be member of the Mandate Group, however appealed to them to go a step further by marketing the achievement of President Jonathan and the PDP from the Ward level.

He disclosed that if every member of the Mandate group was able to get one or two people to their side, especially the hard critics, most of the jobs would have been done and advised them not to be complacent or underestimate the opposition, adding, “In war, politics and diplomacy never ever underestimate your opponent or overestimate your own ability. You have to continue to work every minute.”

Some members of the Mandate group that came for the visit are former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Engr Muhammed Abba-Gana; former Minister of Information, John Odey; Obadia Ando, Emmanuel Ogidi, Chief Chinedu Maduagwu, Mrs. Onyekaba Rosemary, Dr. Uche Okafor Cijeyu Ojong and Dr Iby Ofem.
