FG Wants To Kill Amaechi-.House Of Reps Member Cries Out

A member of the House of Representatives representing Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency of Rivers State, Hon. Andrew Uchendu, has expressed concern over what he said are attempts by agents of the federal government to eliminate the governor of his state, Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Uchendu, who is also one of the lawmakers that decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and also a representative of the Amaechi’s constituency, conveyed his concern over the threats to the governor’s life via a statement he titled: “Before Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Dies.”

Explaining to reporters that he intends to explore other avenues to tell Nigerians about the plight of Amaechi, the lawmaker also flayed the frisking of the official car of the Speaker of the House, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, by soldiers in Kaduna on Monday.

Citing Chapter four, sub-sections 40 and 41 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which guarantees the freedom of association of any Nigerian, the lawmaker wondered what might befall Amaechi if the attention of Nigerians was not drawn to “the events of the most recent weeks, around Amaechi which have come in rather quick succession.”

Recalling three events during which the governor had encounters with agents of the government at the Akure Airport, Ado Ekiti and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano, he noted that “in all these three incidences, those carrying out the orders are said to be acting on “orders from above.”

“He has been the only governor that had his state’s House of Assembly invaded and desecrated by hired thugs and militants. He is the only governor that has had canisters thrown by the police into his seat of power, the Government House. And he has been the only one who the police prevented from driving on the road he constructed to go to the Government House,” Uchendu observed.

He queried: “Can all these be said to be politics?” stressing that he wasworried and concerned.
“I want to believe that there are more to all these than meet the eyes.”
He pleaded with all Nigerians and the federal government, as well as its agents “to allow Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to live,” arguing that “he is a full-blooded Nigerian citizen and elected by the people of Rivers State of Nigeria.”

Change is inevitable!!
