BANKOLE TO JOIN OGUN GUBER RACE
ABEOKUTA—A strong
indication has emerged that former Speaker of House of Representatives,
Hon. Dimeji Bankole will soon declare interest in the 2015 governorship
election in Ogun State.
Vanguard gathered that
the former Speaker is being tipped by the Presidency to contest the
governorship election under the People’s Democratic Party against
incumbent governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun in 2015.
It was
gathered that, the move was calculated to tackle the ruling All
Progressives Congress in the state in 2015 because both Amosun and
Bankole hail from Ogun Central Senatorial district.
Addressing
the PDP members in Ilaro during Ogun West Senatorial District
stakeholders meeting, Bankole hinted that he may declare his
governorship ambition at the next stakeholders meeting scheduled to hold
in Abeokuta, Ogun central.
Bankole however, warned that it
would be dangerous to assume that the party would win the governorship
election in the state on a platter of gold.
He therefore urged members ot the PDP to go back to their wards and local governments and mobilise the people.
